Les Ogres de Barback ont l’impression d’être montés dans un camion en 1994 et de n’en être plus descendus depuis… sauf ces derniers mois, malheureusement contraints, comme tou(te)s, à quitter la route.
Quelques mois seulement après la fin d’une grosse tournée [110 concerts, 6 musiciens additionnels, une équipe de 20 personnes sur la route] qui se sera étalée de mars 2019 à décembre 2021 [plutôt que décembre 2020, Covid oblige], les Ogres seront donc déjà de retour sur scène au printemps 2022, pour présenter leur nouvelle création. Avec cette énergie et cette envie sans cesse renouvelées depuis près de trois décennies, qu’ils puisent notamment dans l’enchaînement des projets et la diversité des propositions artistiques faites au public. C’est ainsi également qu’ils marquent le profond respect qu’ils portent à leur auditoire.
Cette « petite » tournée [25 à 30 dates envisagées] marquera un tournant historique dans l’histoire du groupe. Car le musicien qui se joindra à eux pour ce nouveau spectacle n’est pas juste un artiste invité à leurs côtés, comme c’est une habitude chez les Ogres. Mais bien le seul individu qui pouvait être appelé un jour à devenir le 5ème Ogre à part entière : Léo Burguière, leur petit frère, cinquième et dernier enfant de la fratrie, leur cadet d’une quinzaine d’années ! Le « p’tit Léo » – celui qui, enfant, rejoignait ses frangin(e)s sur scène le temps d’une chanson lors de la tournée des 10 ans en 2004 – a fait ses gammes, tranquillement, de son côté au fil des ans dans plusieurs autres formations. Diplômé de musicologie, multi-instrumentiste comme ses aîné(e)s mais seul batteur des cinq, il apportera ses propres pierres dans l’instrumentarium déjà abondant des Ogres.

La forme tiendra, comme souvent, autant du spectacle que du concert, avec, outre les trente-cinq instruments dont ils jouent auxquels il faudra désormais ajouter ceux apportés par Léo, quelques éléments de décor et une scénographie et une mise en lumières toujours aussi travaillées.
Les Ogres aimant à puiser dans leur dense discographie, le champ des possibles en termes de répertoire est vaste. Quoi qu’il en soit, ils défendront leur conception de la chanson française : décloisonnée et ouverte sur le monde, qu’elle se fasse « classique » ou métissée, acoustique ou électrique, clin d’œil aux glorieux anciens ou directement en prise avec les sonorités du nouveau millénaire, poétique ou survoltée, amoureuse ou contestataire, pour les petits ou pour les grands ou pour les deux à la fois…
Voilà. Les Ogres – désormais en quintet – vont rejoindre leur terrain de jeu favori.
Celui où l’on s’expose, où l’on partage, où l’on échange.
Celui où ils existent pleinement. Depuis déjà 27 ans.
